Useful English Expressions for Email and Business Writing

Monday, September 21st, 2009 | Learning English at LCI

Emails are the most common method of written communication. Communicating well and getting our messages across sometimes becomes difficult when time is everything and people have to run and speed things up, especially at work, to be able to meet deadlines and finish business matters on time.

What usually happens is that we tend to make mistakes and sometimes messages are not clear. People could misunderstand the message and the language becomes too informal, colloquial, and code speaking.

People should prioritize improving the way they express themselves in written language with a better quality of writing which consists of a good choice of words and the usage of correct expressions in diferent situations; let’s not forget punctuation, spelling, word order, etc. Through ESL programs you can find a wide variety of material on learning and improving the language.

As mentioned above, there are key words and expressions used in ESL classes, which may be applied when communicating through email. With these basics you’ll definitely improve the way you communicate in writing.
